Athlete’s Choice Massage | Downtown Edmonton Team

Amy Q. – Yoga Instructor

Starting my wellness journey well over 8 years ago, I first turned to healing practices such as yoga to help deal with the chronic pain I was experiencing within my physical body. Upon the realization of the deeper healing that was happening within I became hooked. During my BSc at the University of Alberta I enjoyed studying earth sciences, psychology, business and select topics from the Arts faculty which have helped to shape my current philosophies around healing, the natural world and the power of the mind. I completed my 200 hr yoga teacher training in the spring of 2017 with the Sattva School of Yoga. Since then, I have taken numerous workshops to deepen my understanding of how I can better serve my students and clients. All yoga sessions focus on developing alignment, strength and connection between the body, mind and breath, an invaluable tool for any health and wellness journey.

I treat with intention. As always, my goal is to find the main source of any symptom or condition, then work through it from the inside, out. By doing this, I help increase range of motion and flexibility, decrease muscle soreness and adhesions,   as well as prevent future injuries. Working with athletes and helping them recover from injuries, increase performance, and maintain general muscle, joint and facial health has always been a passion of mine. I am currently attending MacEwan University to further my education with the intention of becoming an acupuncturist after graduation. I believe massage can be beneficial for all athletes not only to treat injuries, but to prevent them in the first place by increasing mobility and muscle flexibility.

Whether you are looking to relieve pain and muscle tension, or you would like to simply experience the relaxing benefits of massage, I look forward to working with you to help you achieve those goals.
