The Divide 200 route traverses the Castle/Crownest/Flathead area of the southern Rockies and aims to celebrate the Rocky Mountain heritage while showcasing portions of the breathtaking Great Divide Trail. The organizers’ primary objective is to keep participants elevated and immersed in the diverse landscape of the Continental Divide, providing them with an opportunity to explore the stunning Southern Canadian Rockies.
The course incorporates a mix of single track, double track, some road, cross country, and even bushwhacking and scrambling, presenting a unique alpine travel experience that involves ridge walks and venturing into the remote backcountry. However, this race is not for the faint of heart, as it demands significant experience in both racing and alpine travel. Although the course is predetermined, there may be sections that require route-finding skills due to the challenging terrain.
