Edmonton’s Longest-Running Winter Festival Celebrates Prairie Life and Embraces Winter Experiences for All Ages
The Silver Skate Festival is a free, 10-day family-oriented celebration blending culture, art, education, sports, and recreation. This year, we welcome everyone to rekindle the joy of a first snowfall or discover it anew.
Feel the chill breeze as you glide along Edmonton’s free public skating rinks. Take in the artistry at the Snow Sculpture Garden, marvel at roving performers on the Folk Trail, and find renewal as you write down a fear or wish to be added to the nightly Fire Sculpture burn.
Visit the Indigenous Pavilion in the Heritage Village, where you can experience installations, stories, and the moving Winter Walking Ceremony. Challenge yourself or team up with friends in the Ice Duathlon or Mammoet Winter Triathlon. With all types of skates and skill levels welcome, there’s something for everyone!
We invite you to embrace Edmonton’s winter magic and the boundless outdoor experiences our city offers.
Toques off to the amazing volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and dedicated staff who make the Silver Skate Festival possible. Thank you for your generous support and hard work!
