Like anything, fat can become a problem when it is consumed in excess. Further, there are good fats and bad fats. Dietitians recommend consuming more monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats to lower your risk of cardiovascular disease, and lowering your intake of saturated fats, since these are linked to higher cholesterol levels.
