Green Shield Direct Billing

Green Shield Canada (GSC) is a not-for-profit Canadian health and dental benefits provider that offers a range of insurance products and services to individuals and groups across the country. Founded in 1957, GSC provides coverage for prescription drugs, dental care, vision care, and other healthcare services to more than 4 million Canadians. The company is headquartered in Windsor, Ontario, and has offices in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary.

Massage therapy is often considered to be a form of alternative or complementary medicine, and it may be covered under some health insurance plans if it is prescribed by a healthcare provider. However, coverage for massage therapy may vary depending on the specific terms of your policy, so it is important to review your policy documents or contact Green Shield to determine what is covered.

If you are an Green Shield member and are interested in receiving massage therapy, you should check your policy documents or contact the plan to see if it is covered. You may also want to speak with your healthcare provider to see if they believe massage therapy is an appropriate treatment option for your needs.

Processing your Green Shield Massage Claim Directly

Direct billing your Green Shield massage claim is such a great feature and we are happy to provide it. We know the convenience of getting coverage on the spot is invaluable in these busy times. However, there are a few variables that are out of our control when processing your claim. To help us mitigate some of these issues please ensure you have completed the following:

COMMITED

Please note that while every effort will be made to process your direct billing request, occasionally due to circumstances outside of our control we are unable to process insurance claims on your behalf. Please also be advised we are unable to run your benefits or check your coverage prior to the day of your appointment. If you want to be sure of your coverage beforehand please contact your insurance provider directly to avoid any surprises on the day of.

Cancellations of appointments within 24 hours due to the clinic’s inability to process a direct billing request will be considered in violation of our cancellation policy and a fee of $50 will apply.

This is your opportunity to point out what area you’d like to work on during your time, as well as identify any special requests or concerns you may have. Should you have more than one area of concern, your therapist will prioritize the chief complaint and create a treatment plan for the time allotted and for follow-ups as needed.
