What to expect during your Personal Training session:

If you want to improve your overall health and wellness, increase strength, promote flexibility, and manage your weight, Personal Training is the right service for you.

Your personal trainer will start with a thorough assessment of your overall body health. You’ll be asked about your medical history, fitness habits, lifestyle routines, and any areas of concern you may have. Your trainer will perform various tests and assessments to determine your body mechanics, strength levels, and conditioning. They will discuss what your goals are with you to determine the best plan to achieve them while fitting your busy life.

Your plan will include supervised training, activities at home, prescribed stretches, and advice on nutrition. Rehabilitation methods may also use include mobilization techniques, manual therapy, therapeutic modalities, as well as education. You can schedule your sessions as frequently as needed, typically 2 – 3 times per week to allow for muscle recovery and continuous progress. You will receive positive motivation and guidance throughout your whole journey.

Please bring proper indoor footwear for exercising, such as comfortable running or training shoes, and dress appropriately for physical exercise. It’s important to drink plenty of water, so be sure to bring a water bottle. You may also want to bring a notebook to record your progress. We focus on health rather than weight so we don’t do weigh-ins.

If you’re planning on getting Personal Training, here are some important things to keep in mind:

  1. Arrive early: It’s a good idea to arrive a few minutes early to your appointment. This will give you time to fill out any necessary paperwork and get settled in before your appointment begins.
  2. Avoid heavy meals: A full stomach can interfere with the work out. However, an empty stomach can leave you light headed. Try to eat a light meal an hour or two before your appointment.
  3. Drink plenty of water: It’s important to stay hydrated before, during, and after your appointment.
  4. Dress appropriately: Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring indoor shoes.
  5. Communicate with your trainer: During your appointment, make sure to keep an open dialogue regarding any discomfort you are experiencing. This will help them make adjustments as needed.
  6. Take it easy after your appointment: It is important to give your body time to rest and recover after a work out. Avoid intense physical activity or exercise immediately after your appointment and allow your body time to relax and recover.
  7. Follow any post-work out instructions: Your trainer may provide you with specific instructions or stretches to do after the appointment to help with recovery. It is important to follow these instructions to get the greatest overall benefit.

History of Fitness Personal Training:

The history of fitness personal training dates back to the early 19th century when physical culture enthusiasts and athletes began to develop exercise programs to improve their performance. In the 1950s and 1960s, personal training became more formalized with the emergence of strength training and bodybuilding. By the 1970s, personal training became a recognized profession, and certification programs were developed.

Today, personal trainers work with clients of all ages and fitness levels to help them achieve their health and fitness goals through customized exercise programs and guidance on nutrition and lifestyle habits.
