Tendons transmit the forces produced by muscles to the bones. Consequently, movement takes place and you are able to freely flex and extend your joints.
The inflammation of a tendon, often caused by friction on a bone or other tissue, is called tendinitis. The most common forms of this include tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, and DeQuervain’s Syndrome. Injury to your tendons may also occur in the form of a strain, where the tendon is stretched past its normal limits or tears.
