Groupsource is a Canadian third-party administrator that manages extended health and dental benefits for associations and affinity groups. RMT coverage through a Groupsource-administered plan depends on the specific program your association has set up.
Coverage
Groupsource extended health plans may include coverage for Registered Massage Therapy (RMT). Coverage amounts, annual maximums, and eligible practitioner requirements vary by plan. Your RMT receipt from ACM includes your therapist’s registration number, session date, duration, and fee — everything your provider needs to process the claim.
How it works
ACM submits your claim directly to Groupsource at the time of your appointment — you pay nothing out of pocket for the covered portion. To process your claim on the day, make sure your insurance information is entered on your intake form before you arrive.
What to have ready
- Your Groupsource plan number and member ID
- Your relationship to the plan holder (if you’re a dependent)
- Any authorization number your plan requires in advance

Note: while we process direct billing successfully in the vast majority of cases, it is not guaranteed. If your claim can’t be processed on the day, we’ll provide a receipt for manual submission to your insurer.

FAQ
Does Groupsource cover massage therapy?
Coverage varies by the association or affinity group plan administered through Groupsource. Many plans include RMT under paramedical or extended health benefits. Contact your association’s benefits administrator or Groupsource directly to confirm your entitlement.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Referral requirements vary by plan. Most Groupsource-administered plans do not require a physician referral for RMT coverage. Check your plan booklet or contact Groupsource to confirm.
How do I check my remaining coverage?
Log into your Groupsource member portal or call the number on the back of your benefits card. ACM can’t access your plan details — only you or your plan administrator can confirm your remaining balance.
What if my direct billing claim is declined?
We’ll let you know right away and process payment directly. We’ll give you an itemized RMT receipt to submit to Groupsource for manual reimbursement — most plans process these within 5–10 business days.
