Sherwood Park Highland Gathering

We were excited to be part of the Sherwood Park Highland Gathering this summer, joining a weekend filled with Highland competition, music, dancing, heavy events, and plenty of community spirit.

Held at Broadmoor Lake Park, the Gathering brings together athletes, performers, volunteers, families, and spectators to celebrate Scottish and Celtic traditions right here in our community.

Our team had the opportunity to provide massage treatments throughout the event, meeting athletes competing in everything from Highland dancing to the impressive heavy events, as well as volunteers and attendees enjoying the weekend. It was a great chance to connect with people, hear their stories, and help athletes feel a little more prepared for whatever their day had in store.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans for Day 2. A severe storm moved through the grounds overnight, causing significant damage and making the site unsafe, so the second day of the Gathering had to be cancelled. While it was disappointing to see the weekend cut short, we were grateful for the time we did get to spend with so many incredible people.

From the strength and athleticism of the heavy events to the energy of the pipe bands and Highland dancers, there was no shortage of excitement. We’re proud to have been part of an event that celebrates culture, athleticism, volunteers, and community, and we look forward to joining the Gathering again in the future.
