Male Massage Therapist in Edmonton

Registered therapists
Every therapist listed by clinic is a Registered Massage Therapist in Alberta, so your receipt works with extended health benefit plans.

Choose the therapist you want and book that person directly. No request form, no explaining your preference at the front desk.
Direct billing available
We direct bill Manulife, Sun Life, Canada Life and most other major insurers at the desk.
Yes. Athlete’s Choice Massage has male Registered Massage Therapists in Edmonton, and you can book the one you want by name instead of requesting a preference and hoping for a match. Fourteen are listed below by clinic, each with a direct booking link.
People ask for a male therapist for all kinds of reasons. Some want firmer pressure through dense muscle. Some have trained with the same therapist for years and want to stay with them. Some are men who put treatment off for a long time and would rather see another man for a first appointment. None of that needs explaining at the front desk.
What matters clinically is the credential. Registered Massage Therapist is a protected title in Alberta: accredited training, registration with a provincial association, and receipts that work with extended health benefit plans. Every therapist listed under a clinic below holds that designation.
What a first appointment looks like
Your therapist starts with intake: what brought you in, relevant health history, how the problem behaves through your day. Expect questions about work, training, sleep position, and old injuries. Where it helps, they will test range of motion before any hands-on work starts.
You undress only to your comfort level. You stay draped for the whole session, with only the area being treated uncovered. You set the pressure, you can ask your therapist to leave an area alone for any reason or none, and you can stop at any point. That is standard practice for every RMT in Alberta, not something you need to negotiate.
Sessions run 45 to 120 minutes. Most people leave with two or three things to do at home and a clear sense of whether this is a one-visit fix or something that needs a short run of appointments.
Insurance and direct billing
Massage with a Registered Massage Therapist is covered by most extended health plans in Alberta. We direct bill at the desk, so in most cases you pay only the portion your plan does not cover.
That includes Manulife, Sun Life, and Canada Life and Great-West Life, among others. The full direct billing list covers every insurer we submit to and what to bring to a first appointment.
One caveat worth knowing before you book: student therapists cannot issue receipts for benefit plans. If you need the receipt, book an RMT.

What to know
Before Your Visit
Arrive Early
A few minutes before your appointment lets you complete paperwork and settle in before treatment begins.
Eat Light
Avoid heavy meals for 1–2 hours beforehand. A light snack is fine, an empty stomach can cause lightheadedness.
Stay Hydrated
Drink water before and after. Hydration helps flush out waste released during treatment and reduces post-session soreness.
Dress Comfortably
Wear loose-fitting or athletic clothing that allows free movement. Your therapist will advise on draping based on your treatment.
Communicate
Share your concerns, injuries, and goals before the session starts, and keep the dialogue open throughout so adjustments can be made in real time.
Rest After
Skip intense activity after your session and give your body time to integrate the treatment.
Follow Aftercare
Your therapist may prescribe specific stretches, exercises, or self-care strategies. Following through ensures the best long-term results.
Medical Clearance
If you are pregnant, undergoing cancer treatment, or recently injured, consult your healthcare provider before booking. Your safety comes first.

FAQ
Can I book a male massage therapist directly at Athlete's Choice Massage?
Yes. Every therapist listed on this page books by name through our online system. Choose the therapist, choose a time, and the appointment is held with that person. You do not need to submit a request or explain your preference to anyone.
What if the therapist I want has no availability?
Book a different male RMT at the same clinic, or check another Athlete's Choice location. If you would rather not sort through it yourself, call 780-433-0550 and the front desk will find the next available male therapist across all four Edmonton-area clinics.
Are all of your male massage therapists Registered Massage Therapists?
Everyone listed under a clinic heading is a Registered Massage Therapist. One student therapist is listed separately at the bottom of the page. Registered Massage Therapist is a protected title in Alberta: it requires accredited training and registration with a provincial association.
What happens during a first massage appointment?
Your therapist reviews your health history and what brought you in, then assesses the area before any hands-on work. You undress only to your comfort level and stay draped throughout, with only the area being treated uncovered. You control the pressure and can stop or redirect the session at any point.
Do you direct bill for massage with a male RMT in Edmonton?
Yes. Athlete's Choice Massage direct bills Manulife, Sun Life, Canada Life and most other major insurers for treatment with a Registered Massage Therapist. Student therapists cannot issue receipts for extended health benefit plans, so book an RMT if you need to claim it.
