Athlete’s Choice Massage | Old Strathcona, Whyte Ave Team

Candice C. – RMT
I pride myself in being a good listener and this helps get to the root of your issue. My recent travels to Thailand to study Thai Massage taught me about a whole other world of stretching and assisted yoga techniques. I’m passionate about pain management, pathological conditions and disorders. I also enjoy working with clients who have had recent hip, knee and shoulder surgery. Whether you are a serious athlete, weekend warrior, or not an athlete at all, it’s my goal to build the right treatment plan with you.

Eden F. – RMT
Always looking for ways to improve the health and wellness of individuals, I completed my initial education in Social Work in 2013 at MacEwan University, with a particular interest in Mental Health and Addictions. Afterward, I moved to Toronto, Ontario, and while there, completed the 2200 hour Massage Therapy Diploma program with honours at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. I like to acknowledge the fact that, along with the physical benefits that massage can provide to a person’s general aches, pains, and even more serious conditions, there are a variety of mental health benefits that come with a massage therapy treatment as well! Regardless of the reasons you are coming in for your massage, I will work with you in order to achieve the goals you have in mind.

Since was living in Banff, my favourite memories have been of working with athletes of various backgrounds. Having been a competitive athlete myself, I know how crucial a self-care regiment is. Whether you’re looking to increase mobility, ease muscle soreness or calm your nerves – I am excited to work with you before, after, and in between your events to maximize your performance and recovery. In addition to massage I am also a 200HR yoga teacher and currently studying to become a community Herbalist online through Pacific Rim College in Victoria. I hope to have a medicinal herb farm in the future.

I take pride in my passion and ambition towards helping people. As a therapist, I am always learning and continuing to grow. The more I learn about the body, the more eager I am to inform people and assist them in getting back to their normal. No one should have to live in pain and I’m here to help make that possible! I am also part of the LGBTQIA2S community and strive to maintain an inclusive, safe space for everyone.

Sarah K. – RMT
I graduated with honours from MaKami College in 2016. I am also certified in Sports Taping & Strapping as well as Craniosacral Therapy. I love helping people become pain free and home care is an important step to achieving that. My main area of expertise is in the treating of tension headaches and migraines. I myself have struggled with them in the past, which I feel gives me a deeper understanding on how to treat them. I also work closely with many runners, rock climbers and office workers. I look forward to working with you!

Stephen M. – Manual Osteopath
I graduated from the National Manual Osteopathic College in 2017 and have a preceding Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Alberta. My past experience includes strength and conditioning and sport performance as a track and field coach at the U of A, a rehabilitation trainer and group fitness trainer. As a practitioner I have experience with populations ranging from children to seniors; inactive individuals to elite athletes; histories of physical trauma to general body maintenance. My perspective is to address the body as one functional unit, treat the necessary components to a person’s issue and allow the self regulation of the body to take place. I provide clients with the big picture of their current state of movement health and implement a partnered treatment plan to reach their goals.

TJ M. – RMT
I am a skilled RMT who completed the 3000 hour massage therapy program at Makami college where I also work as an instructor. For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about sports and fitness. It was that passion that got me into the massage therapy industry. With my time as a massage therapist I have gained valuable experience working with athletes, including being a member of the tissue rehabilitation team with the EDMONTON ESKIMOS. I am also certified in sports and kinesio-taping as well as functional movement techniques. As a therapist I love working with each client individually and creating a plan that can help achieve the best results. Whether you play on a court or field, or are someone who is struggling with the pain from daily life, I look forward to helping you on your path to recovery
